The story concerns the Waterbury family who move to "Three Chimneys", a house near the railway after the father, who works at the Foreign office, is imprisoned as a result of being falsely accused of selling state secrets to the Russians. The three children, Roberta (Bobbie), Peter and Phyllis, find amusement in watching the trains on the nearby railway line and waving to the passengers. They become friendly with Albert Perks, the station porter, and with the Old Gentleman who regularly takes the 9:15 down train. He is eventually able to help prove their father's innocence, and the family is reunited.The family also take care of the Russian exile, Mr Szczepansky,who came to England looking for his family (later located) and Jim, the grandson of the Old Gentleman,who suffers a broken leg in a tunnel.

FX在一年前预订了10集Getty家族传记限定剧《信任 Trust》，现确定剧在6月于伦敦开机，18年1月首播。《信任》由《贫民窟的百万富翁 Slumdog Millionaire》的Danny Boyle﹑Simon Beaufoy及Christian Colso n开发，Danny Boyle将会执导，Simon Beaufoy则负责编剧。 《信任》讲述的是真实的富豪家族故事，主角是John Paul Getty III，Getty石油公司的（前）继承人；于1973年时，John Paul Getty III在罗马遭到绑架，当时黑手党绑匪向他的家族勒索赎金（根据资料是1700万美元）。然而他在绑匪手上时，这对他成了一种恶梦，因为当时仿佛没有人想救他回来似的。 意大利警方认为这是恶作剧，因而拒绝调查﹑John Paul Getty III那没了继承权的父亲在伦敦嗑海洛因，形同废人﹑祖父在当时可能是全球最富有的人，他待在英国郊区的都铎庄园，身边有五个情妇及一只宠物狮子，「忙」得没空理孙子（根据其他新闻，有指他为免未来有其他人有样学样绑架其他家人，因此不愿付赎金）。当时唯一跟日益绝望的绑匪谈判的（到了最后，赎金已砍价至290万美金），只有他的母亲……问题是，她已经破产了。 另外在现实中，John Paul Getty III获释后性格大变，同时得了酗酒及毒瘾问题，后来没了继承权，并于1981因喝下混了大量药物的鸡尾酒而瘫痪，直至在2011离世。
Showtime已经大方地给出了该剧的第七季预订, 可惜的是，在第六季拍摄中，该剧的人气演员【彼得·费辛利Peter Facinelli】扮演Dr.Fitch Cooper提出希望结束合约，剧组也点头了，所以在第七季中他将不再作为常规出现。
